Course Description

In this series, we will explore how optimism and hope permeate the teachings of Judaism. We will see how it resonates with the teaching of both the Jewish mystical tradition as well as the perspective of the founders of the modern state of Israel. We will discover how this positive aspiration has become embodied in the religious ideal of the Messiah.

Session Three: The Power of Love & Goodwill


Love teaches us how to find the divine livingness in every moment of life. Love puts us in resonance with the pattern of the universe. It connects us to the eternal Will of God. Once we join our hearts and minds to the dynamic energy of the divine life force, we can accomplish anything.

Session Four: Hope and the aspiration for the Messiah

In the last session of this series we explore how the Messianic ideal is the highest embodiment of hope. We learn how the Messianic idea expresses our belief that the divine is unfolding over history and that there is a Higher Power that guides and directs the world on a journey toward a grand spiritual fruition.

About Rabbi Yoel Glick

Rabbi Yoel Glick, the director of Daat Elyon, is a teacher of Jewish mysticism, one of the pioneers of modern Jewish meditation, and a spiritual mentor who has been guiding seekers on the path for over thirty years. Rabbi Yoel teaches in synagogues, ashrams, monasteries, seminaries and interfaith institutions to students from a multitude of backgrounds in locations across the globe.
