The first step in the process of healing and transformation is to be able to see ourselves as we really are. In this series, we explore different techniques from the tradition that will help us see ourselves with clarity, and understand the healing work that needs to be done.

Course Description

Self-awareness is the first step in the process of personal transformation. Rav Yoel will guide you through a series of practices and techniques from the teachings of the Hasidic Masters that will sharpen your self-perception and teach you how to see yourself through the eyes of other human beings. 

Course Format

Each session will be two hours long. The sessions will include a combination of teaching, Kabbalistic meditations, practical transformation practices, breakout groups, textual study, discussion, and Q&A.
Recordings will be available for all sessions.

Session One: The Garden of Eden

This session explores the mystical meaning of the Garden of Eden story in the Bible. We will delve into the lessons and insights that the garden story provides for today's seekers.

Session Two: Know Yourself

The first step in the process of self-transformation is to get to know yourself. This session looks at various tools that the tradition provides for seeing ourselves with clarity so that we can grow and change.

Session Three: Joining Thought to Action

The tradition tells us that the essence of spiritual development is to learn how to link thought and action. This is a good definition of the practice of mindfulness in thought, word, and deed. This is the next step in the process of our awakening to self-awareness.

Session Four: Awareness of Our Greater Self

There is also another dimension to this work of self-awareness—a shift in consciousness where we learn to be aware of not only ourselves, but all of Israel, and all of Humankind. This is the true 'Self-awareness' that we are striving toward.

Rabbi Yoel Glick, the director of Daat Elyon, is a teacher of Jewish mysticism, one of the pioneers of modern Jewish meditation, and a spiritual mentor who has been guiding seekers on the path for over thirty years.
